THE DRIVING FORCE

Keeyon Howard’s pursuit of art and development was not born from theory alone. It was born from observation, experience, and a lifelong search to understand what truly develops human beings from the inside out.

As a former high school dropout, his journey did not follow a traditional path. While athletics opened major opportunities—including the signing of a professional football contract in the CFL—creative expression remained the constant force shaping his life. Art was never simply a talent or hobby. It became a developmental force that strengthened leadership, sharpened identity, built discipline, expanded vision, and created direction during seasons where life lacked structure.

What began through creativity eventually evolved into a deeper pursuit of education and human development. The same creative drive that fueled artistic expression ultimately reignited the pursuit of learning itself, leading Keeyon from dropping out of high school to earning a Master of Education degree. The research, study, and developmental exploration required throughout that journey expanded his understanding of behavior, leadership, identity formation, and the internal systems that shape human growth.

Through years of working with youth, young adults, leaders, athletes, creatives, and justice-involved individuals, a consistent pattern began to emerge. Beneath many behavioral struggles, emotional battles, leadership gaps, and developmental setbacks were deficiencies in five foundational components: Leadership, Identity, Ownership, Navigation, and Structure.

This realization became the foundation of his life’s work and the beginning of the Creative Expression Theory of Human Development.

Keeyon believes many systems teach information without truly developing the individual beneath the behavior. His work challenges that model by exploring how creative expression develops human capacity in real time. Leadership is revealed through collaboration. Identity is strengthened through expression. Ownership is developed through creation and responsibility. Navigation is sharpened through problem-solving and adaptation. Structure is built through consistency, discipline, and process.

His work lives at the intersection of creative expression, human development, leadership, behavioral transformation, and research.

Through frameworks, developmental systems, speaking, coaching, creative environments, and ongoing field research, Keeyon is challenging youth, young adults, educators, organizations, and leaders to rethink the role creativity plays in personal growth and long-term development. His pursuit is rooted in the belief that creative expression is not separate from development—it is one of the most powerful forces shaping it.
